Stand

December 9, 2010

How do you follow that Sundance post? I almost didn’t want to try. But I’m sure we’ll have more exciting information to share soon so until then, you’ll just have to read about my boring cancer!

Friday I had my 5th chemo treatment which means only one more! Since my 6th treatment would fall on Christmas Eve, we’ve re-scheduled it for December 30. What a way to say good-bye to 2010. All I can say is good riddance to you.

I’m slowly getting my strength back and other than being tired, muscles hurting when I walk, eyebrows falling out, and living on a diet of water and cottage cheese, I’m doing pretty good. On those days when I’m feeling down though, I listen to this song by Rascal Flatts and it makes me feel stronger. I always cry though.

Stand

You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
Alone and helpless
Like you’ve lost your fight
But you’ll be alright, you’ll be alright

Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you’re made of
You might bend, till you break
Cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad you get strong
Wipe your hands shake it off
Then you stand

Life’s like a novel
With the end ripped out
The edge of a canyon
With only one way down
Take what you’re given before its gone
Start holding on, keep holding on

Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you’re made of
You might bend till you break
Cause it’s all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand

Everytime you get up
And get back in the race
One more small piece of you
Starts to fall into place

Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you’re made of
You might bend till you break
Cause it’s all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand

Yep, I’m crying now. But I’m standing.

One more to go!

Also, a big CONGRATS to Bob on the selection of his video for the Sundance Film Festival. Say hello to “Bob” Redford for me and I can’t wait to hear all the stories upon your return.

Best of luck to you, Bob and Bobby and best wishes for a blessed and wonderful 2011.

Once you have your last chemo in December you can give your full attention to getting ready for your trip to Utah. It will be such an exciting time and a great way to begin the new year!
