Premiere Day!

Good Morning Berlin. It’s Premiere Day!

But before all of the festivities started, we headed over to Potsdamer Platz to check out the mall…

and to taste more German cuisine…

After that unique lunch (!) it was time to get ready for the big premiere.

First stop was the press lounge for interviews with members of the International Press. It seemed quite intimidating to us at first but everyone was incredibly kind as they asked us questions about our life and about the film. We had such fun as we went from reporter to reporter, telling our story and answering questions. What an incredible opportunity and experience for three people who, together, hadn’t ventured farther than Wisconsin before all of this began. Amazing!

Before we knew it, we were off to Friedrichstadt Palast for the Berlinale premiere of Life In A Day… and on the red carpet (with our friend Marek by our side). We could get used to this!

Then in the theatre with our lovely and talented friends Liza Marshall and Joe Walker. We were joined by the charming Wieland Speck who is the head of the Berlinale Panorama section of the Berlinale Film Festival…

As we watched the film again, I was overcome with emotion. Not only as I saw our day unfold on-screen, reliving those moments all over again, but as I took in the simple beauty of the film. After the screening, we were asked to join Liza and Joe on stage–another emotional moment in and of itself…

Afterwards, it was more picture-taking and a few quick interviews…

Then on to a press event for cocktails, mingling, and interviews…

We were thrilled to have met many of the German film contributors who were also at the premiere…

After a fabulous dinner where food, wine, and even ice cream sundaes flowed, it was time to head back home. Little did we know that a party all its own was going on in the lobby of our hotel! So, why not… we joined the film contributors from Germany in a post-premiere celebration…

Complete with head stands…

And channeling of some sort…

Not ready to end the party, Bobby boogied in the elevator…

But as we reached the 3rd floor, it was time to step out and say goodnight…

With many sweet dreams to lull us to sleep…
