Our Last Day in Germany…

Sunday, February 13

Our last day in Berlin certainly didn’t lack for fun. We started out the day with our fellow “party-ers” from last night. No head stands today, but definitely lots of coffee! After breakfast, it was off to a Q&A and one more press interview.

First though, we had to say goodbye to lovely Liza and her husband Mark–an accomplished actor and an extemely nice person! We can’t wait to see him in the Green Lantern coming out in June.

Bobby found a fellow Lego fan in Mark and enjoyed telling him all about his creations back home…

Before leaving Potsdamer Platz we posed with the Berlinale Silver Bear…

And then it was off to our ZDF interview in the freezing cold!

Time for lunch at the Lindenbräu Brewery where we gorged on schnitzel and way too much POP…

Feeling quite full, we spent the afternoon walking off our schnitzel and taking in some sights…

A piece of the Berlin Wall…

And the historic Brandenburg Gate…

Belong long it was, sadly, time to say goodbye to Joe (oh how we’ll miss Joe!) and head back to our hotel.

A little card playing…

A little Lego playing…

And a little email checking…

Then it was time to hit the sack for an early morning wake up call. Our Berlin trip was coming to a close and before we knew it, we were on a plane back home to Grayslake…

Looking out of the plane’s window, I couldn’t help but think about clouds and their silver linings…

Cancer was our cloud but it had a beautiful silver lining–Life in a Day! We’ve met incredible new friends and have grown closer to our old ones. We’ve traveled to places that we might never have seen otherwise, and upon returning, we’ve appreciated our home more than we ever thought we could. We found that we’ve touched people’s hearts and in return, our hearts have been touched. We’ve laughed and we’ve cried. We’ve healed. We are so very blessed.

There’s a reason for everything that comes and goes… and I’ll never stop believing in clouds with that sweet silver lining.

Look at Bobby sleeping on the plane…already a seasoned international flier at the tender age of 7.

    What an adventure!

I feel that I have traveled with you and have enjoyed all the many sights. Your last paragraph brought me to tears. You have been on one heck of a journey and it is so nice that you have allowed us all to be part of it. You should contact YMe and let them know all about this film.
