Due to Technical Difficulties…

Bobby’s birthday was postponed.

When he said no to this in the morning…

I knew something was wrong. It turned out that our little guy had an ear infection and an upset stomach. He was devastated. He had been waiting for this day for so long.

Luckily though, we were able to see the doctor right away and after an afternoon of sleeping, saltines, and medicine, he was beginning to feel better…

Dad brought home a cake that brightened his spirits… and mine!

And a big birthday present seemed to help too…

He was hoping it was the Lego set he wanted…

Oh yea, it was the Lego set he wanted…

So while he worked on his set…

I worked on his cake…

Bob DID eat a piece but yep, I polished off 3/4 of that cake. How scary is that? Very.

So March 9 became March 8 and we started all over again, beginning with that big chocolate donut for breakfast…

A visit to school with birthday treats and the traditional class serenade of Happy Birthday (while Bobby stood paralyzed as they sang to him)…

And some photo ops with his buds…

We ended the day with our traditional birthday dinner at Friday’s…

Complete with singing waiters and waitresses (oh gosh, there’s that song again)

Topped off with an ice cream sundae for the birthday boy…

And the birthday parents…

So there it was. Bobby’s 8th birthday.

It may not have been the birthday we planned but it was one that we’ll always remember. It’s amazing how things always have a magical way of working out.

Happy Birthday(s) Bobby! We hope you enjoyed your day(s)…

We sure did!

A two day celebration – I think Bobby may have planned it that way. 🙂 Glad mom and dad got to celebrate a little too!

Legos and cake make everything better. Maybe Bobby will follow in his Mom’s tradition of having a Birthday Week?
